Cold snap raises question: What's the difference between weather and climate?

The weather continues to be big news along the North Shore and surrounding region. It’s what most people are talking about in the coffee shops and local pubs and restaurants. And every time you step outside, the recent and ongoing cold snap is likely the first thing to enter your mind.

On Dec. 28, President Donald Trump tweeted: “Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!”

And while the cold snap is a reality, in this interview, WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs speaks with Tom Beery from Minnesota Sea Grant about the difference between ‘weather’ and ‘climate.’
