The Grand Marais Public Library hosts a variety of events and programs for families, children, and adults.
Friday Night Reels: The library hosts a winter film series on Friday evenings, from 6 to 8 pm. Films are intended for adult audiences. For families with children, child care will be available at the YMCA. Those who would like to take advantage of the child care option are asked to sign up with the Y the day before the film, by calling 387-3386, or registering online at www.cookcountyymca.org. Parents will receive a coupon from the library at the movie showing to present when picking their children up. Snacks and beverages will be offered. Films scheduled are:
February 12 -- Danny Collins
February 19 -- Glassland
February 26 -- Breather
March 4 -- Dinner Rush
March 11 -- Where Do We Go Now
Music with Briand Morrison: Grand Portage guitarist and singer/songwriter Briand Morrison will perform on Wednesday, February 10, at 6 pm.
Third Wednesday Technology Open House: February 17, 6-8 pm. All who have technology questions are invited to attend. All kinds of technology are included -- computers, cell phones, Apple products, Windows, or whatever. The sessions are unstructured. All skill levels may participate, from beginners to experts. Anyone who can volunteer to assist in any capacity is invited to contact the library directly prior to the event.
Many of the Library's public events are sponsored by the Arrowhead Library System and funded in whole or in part by Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
