Cook County AA, Al-Anon, and CoDA Meetings, Friday, August 18th

There are regular AA, Al-Anon, and CoDA meetings in Cook County.

On Fridays, there's an "As Bill Sees It" Discussion Group Open Meeting, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.

Lake County Fair

The Lake County Fair goes through Sunday, August 20th. The weekend includes live music, barrel races, horse shows, amateur talent contest, midway shows, and more. A full schedule and more information can be found at the lake county fair dot com.  
 

Grand Marais Caregiver Coffee

Build a dreamcatcher August 18th

You are invited to build a dreamcatcher at Eagle Ridge Resort on Fridays, from 10:30 to noon. Cook County Senior Center Lunch Friday, August 18th

The Senior Center in Grand Marais serves lunch at noon every weekday. Today's meal is ham, scalloped potatoes, peas, dessert, and milk. Reservations must be made by 9:30 this morning at 387-2660. 

Today's up-cycling project at 1 p.m. is making a domino pendant. All ages are welcome. 

“Cook County Through My Eyes”

The Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery is hosting an opening reception of “Cook County Through My Eyes” on Friday, August 18th from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit showcases local photographer David R. Johnson’s photo art of the Cook County area. Refreshments will be served and music is provided by Sky Blue and the Orange Girl Jazz Quartet. The show runs through Sunday, September 10th. Meet a voyageur with the Northwest Company August 18th

17th Annual Gitchi-Gami Trail Association North Shore Bike Ride

The 17th Annual Gitchi-Gami Trail Association North Shore Bike Ride takes place Saturday, August 19th. There are 8-, 28-, 37-, and 55-mile options, all starting and ending in Gooseberry Falls State Park on scenic Highway 61. More information is available online at ggta.org.
 

“Wolves at Our Door”
