Cook County AA, Al-Anon, and CoDA Weekend Meetings, November 18th and 19th

There are regular meetings of AA, Al-Anon, and CoDA in Cook County.

Saturdays, there's an AA Open Meeting at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hovland.

Sundays, there's an AA Big Book Study Group at 6:30 p.m. at the Lutsen Town Hall.

Annual County Youth production of “Twelfth Night”

The Annual County Youth production of “Twelfth Night” by William Shakespeare, is directed by Carrie Nath, and will be performed Saturday, November 18th, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 19th, at 2 p.m.

Restorative Justice presentation

Cook County Higher Education is hosting Duluth-based Ted Lewis, Restorative Justice specialist and trainer, on Sunday, November 19th from 2 to 4 p.m. Lewis will guide a discussion-based gathering about processes for victims and offenders, and for general conflicts in schools and communities.  Details from Mary Ellen, at 387-1536.
 

Writing workshop

The Grand Marais Public Library is hosting a writing workshop titled “Re-Visioning Story” on Sunday, November 19th at 2:30 p.m. The presenter will be Kate St. Vincent Vogl, the author of Lost & Found: A Memoir of Mothers, featured on national ABC news. 44th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner

The First Congregational Church is hosting the 44th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 23rd, from 1 to 2 p.m. There is no charge for this traditional meal served family style in the downstairs Social Hall. Information about home-delivery, take-out meals, and rides to the dinner is available at 387-2113. The church is located on the corner of Third Avenue West and Second Street in Grand Marais. 
 

Book signing event

North Shore Winery is hosting a book signing event on Friday, November 24th from 1 to 3 p.m. The book, “Seven Ways to Trick a Troll,” was written by Lise Lunge Larsen, of Duluth; and illustrated by Kari Vick, of Lutsen. They will be onsite at the winery selling and signing the book. In addition, Kari will be selling original paintings from the book, prints, and greeting cards. Certified energy audit funding

The Cook County Local Energy Project is working with the Opp Hvidston (VID-ston) Foundation to provide two homes or businesses in the east end of Cook County with full funding to complete certified energy audits and partial funding for making energy improvements.
