Saving Snow

The Cook County Local Energy Project offers showings of “Saving Snow”, a film documenting the economic and cultural changes to our northern winters.  The first showing is at Lutsen Resort on Saturday February 24th.  A second showing will be at the North House Folk School green building on Tuesday, February 27th.  Both showings are at 7 p.m., with more information at localenergy@boreal.org.
 

Shrek the Musical Jr, annual spring community youth play auditions

The Grand Marais Playhouse annual spring community youth play is Shrek the Musical Junior. Vocal rehearsals begin Monday, February 19th through Thursday, February 22nd, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The play is open to those in grades 3 through 12. Auditions are Monday, February 26th at 3:30 in the Arrowhead Center for the Arts. Play performances will be the last two weekends in April. Volunteers are needed to make costumes, set construction, scenic painting, and more. Details from Sue at 370-0224.

The annual Cook County Girl Scouts Father Daughter Dance will be held Tuesday, March 13, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Wunderbar in Grand Marais. Dance admission includes music by Plucked Up String Band, light refreshments and a small gift for girls. Bruce Johnson will be available for dad and daughter pictures. 2018 Lundie Tour
