Minnesota drivers aged 55+ receive a 10% auto insurance discount by taking an approved 8-hour driver safety class. Drivers maintain the discount by taking a 4-hour refresher class every 3 years. AARP sponsors the beginning and refresher classes at various locations in Cook County. The 8-hour class will take place over two days at Birch Grove Center: on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, June 13, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The four-hour refresher class will be offered at the Cook County Community Center in Grand Marais on Tuesday, June 25, from noon to 4 PM.

AARP members receive a discount.

People unable to fit a class into their schedules can take the AARP classes online and will receive the statutory insurance discount. The link is www.aarpdriversafety.org.
