Cook County Community Education hosts a variety of classes and events for youth and adults.
ASHI Certification for the Lay Responder (American Safety and Health Institute): Wednesday, May 26, 5-9 pm.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification: May 29-31.
Volleyball Camp for Grades 4 – 6: Tuesday – Thursday, June 2-4, 12:30-3pm. Instruction will be given on passing, hitting and serving. Daily drill sessions and scrimmage games in the MS/HS Gym.
Summer Basketball Camp for all Girls grades 4 – 6: Wednesdays, June 3, 10, 17, 24, July 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29; 9 - 10:30 am. Girls will work on basketball fundamentals and drills with Coach Hana Senty. Scrimmages and games will occur when appropriate.
Basic Introduction to Sidearms for Women: Saturday, June 20, 9 am - 3 pm (break for lunch) at the Cook County Community Center. This is a 1 day class covering basics of firearms and firearm safety, with an emphasis on handguns. Classroom instruction in the morning is combined with an opportunity to shoot a few rounds in the afternoon. Firearms and ammo are provided. Participants are encouraged to bring eye and ear protection.
