Members of The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 66 in Duluth may decide to authorize a strike if the union votes to reject an offer from the city today. A rejection could result in a strike of 492 city workers. If a strike is approved, the union needs to give the city ten days notice.

Details of the city and union negotiations have not been made public. If city workers go on strike, it will be up to the city’s managers to maintain things like city snowplowing and any necessary sewer line repairs.
