Rich Mattson & the North Stars play Studio A

Rich Mattson and his band the North Stars (Germaine Gemberling, Eli Bissonett, and Russell Bergum) dropped by The Roadhouse Sept. 5 on their way to play Radio Waves later that evening. Listen for wonderful original music. You can learn more about Rich's music here.


 

Max Bichel & John Gruber make great music on The Roadhouse

Dick & Ann welcomed local musicians John Gruber (guitar) and Max Bichel (violin) to Studio A Aug. 29 for fun conversation and delightful music. They were both scheduled to play a few times at this year's Radio Waves music festival.

The Sweet Papa Dave Band rocks Studio A

Ann Possis & Roger Linehan hosted The Sweet Papa Dave Band in studio Aug. 8 for high-energy, original music that will get you out of your chair. The band, David Hart on guitar, Keith Manske on bass, Randy Mickelberg on guitar, and John Tetrault on drums, was in town to play at Grand Portage Lodge & Casino the next evening.

Nashville singer-songwriter Jerry Vandiver drops by The Roadhouse

Grammy Award-winning songwriter Jerry Vandiver stopped by The Roadhouse Aug. 8 with his guitar to chat and play a few tunes, including what he calls paddling music. His new CD, "Every Scratch Tells a Story," features one he wrote about our town, "In Grand Marais." He was in the area for his 20th straight annual Boundary Waters canoe trip. South Shore band Floydian Slip rocks The Roadhouse

Dick & Ann welcomed the band Floydian Slip (Scott McCafferty, bass; Olaf Kirsten, guitar; Andy Noyes, guitar; and Jeff Kriner, drums)  to Studio A Aug. 1 for fun conversation and great original music & covers. Buck & Ann welcomed local singer-songwriter Maria Nickolay to The Roadhouse July 25 for fun conversation and beautiful music. She's playing at several venues around the county this summer.

Musical duo Cherry Dirt makes Roadhouse debut

Buck & Dick welcomed Staci Stringer (vocals) & Ryan Cihlar (vocals & ukulele), the duo known as Cherry Dirt, to the studio July 18 for wonderful music.. including some great yodeling. You can learn more about them on Facebook.

The Wrong Omar joined Buck & Dick July 11 during membership drive for great music, fun conversation, and general hilarity. You can find the band's website here.

Annie Mack's powerful voice fills Studio A

Buck and Dick welcomed Annie Mack to The Roadhouse July 4. Her music mixes gospel, blues, roots, country and soul to tell rich stories. Her husband Paul O'Sullivan accompanied her on guitar. Annie performed the next evening with her entire band at the ACA in Grand Marais. You can learn more about her music here.
