Ezme Mundell travels to Utah for Spring break adventure

Story by WTIP contributor & Great Expectations School student Ezme Mundell

Over spring break I went to Moab, Utah!

I would totally recommend it; it has lots of hikes and great views! One of the coolest places I went to was Arches National Park. We spent two days exploring there. On the first day I went to Delicate Arch. It is a 3 mile hike of complete wonder! When you get to the “top” there is a huge beautiful arch with the mountains behind it and all!

On day two we followed the cairns on Devils Garden Hike. This hike involved scrambling over rocks and going down steep cliffs. This hike had several branches off leading to different arches or cool rocks. My favorites from this hike were Private Arch which did really live up to its name. You did not see the arch until you got right up to it; it was completely hidden by a rock until you turned the corner! My other favorite was Landscape Arch; it was a thin arch that had lost a ton of rock at one time.

On our last day we went to Canyonlands National Park where we saw big overlooks looking into the wide range of mountains and, as the name suggests, canyons. From this day my favorite part was when we hiked up a huge rock that was called Whale Rock. When we got to the top it was super windy and fun! We also had some really good food in Moab that I would highly recommend.

Okay, so you HAVE to try Milt’s stop and eat there you get the best pesto fries, burgers and malts! Then for a yummy lunch we had quesadillas at Quesadilla Mobilla, they are a small food truck that makes a wide range of tasty quesadillas.

During our long car ride trek we took a stop at hot springs in Colorado! They were really cool because we were in the mountains basically, it’s also cool that they are naturally made! We also stopped and stayed a night in Golden, Colorado there we went on a short mountain hike and ate the Best Pupusas! Overall it was a really fun trip!
