This program officially starts the weekend along the North Shore and across the North Woods. Hosts Buck Benson & Dick Swanson and producer Ann Possis provide two hours packed with insightful interviews,  weekend happenings, local features and toe-tapping music. You never know quite what to expect on the Roadhouse! News flash: Longtime Roadhouse host Buck Benson is on a bicycle trek pedaling from the equator to the tip of South America. To follow his adventure, see www.buckbenson.org He's due to return to the airwaves in December.

Tom Schroeder and John Yust, two friends from St. Paul, are exploring and renovating a stone building in St. Paul's Uppertown. It's likely the oldest surviving commercial structure in the city.

Local historian Tim Cochrane joined Matthew Brown and Dale Klobuchar Dec. 3 to share highlights from his recent discovery and study of two journals of American Fur Co. employees in the 1820s. You might be surprised at what he learned.

Local nurses Teresa Borak and Patty Doherty stopped by the Roadhouse Nov. 26 to talk with Bob about their volunteer medical work with Partner for Surgery in Guatemala. There will be a fundraiser for their efforts Dec. 3 and 4 at Betsy Bowen's Studio in Grand Marais.

Buck chatted Nov. 26 with Steve Knowlton of Prior Lake, who just finished running across the entire country, 4,000 miles in 100 days, to raise money and awareness for Crohn's disease.
