Northern Gardening: Adding Pizzazz to the Fall Garden

Planting
Planting

This is the time of year when the annuals start to get a bit bedraggled and the excitement of gardening starts to wane a bit and becomes more of a chore for the gardener. Hosts Diane Booth and Joan Farnam discussed adding some trees, shrubs or perennials or other things to the fall garden on August's edition of Northern Gardening.

Joining Diane and Joan on the phone was David Zlesak, Assoc. Professor of Horticulture from River Falls Wisconsin, who spoke about some of his newly introduced shrubs and other plants to add for fall. Also joining the program in the studio was Sally Berg, U of M Master Gardener.

Northern Gardening airs live the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. - and is rebroadcast the following Saturday at 6 a.m.
