Schroeder woman seriously injured in Beaver Bay crash

A Schroeder woman was seriously injured when a semi crossed the centerline and hit her vehicle Thursday night.    

Sheryl Lynn Martinson, 57, was traveling north on Highway 61 in a 2016 Subaru CRO near Beaver Bay when a semi, driven by Inderjit Singh Bala, 50, of Brampton, Canada, crossed into Martinson’s lane and struck her car. The accident occurred at 10:18 p.m.

Martinson suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital by ambulance.

The truck driver received non-life-threatening injuries and was not transported to the hospital. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor, but the Minnesota State Patrol has not released any further information at this time. According to the State Patrol, the pavement was dry at the time of the crash.
