Audio segments debut as part of WTIP’s involvement with One Small Step initiative

Earlier this year, WTIP announced that it was selected to be a hub station for StoryCorps’ One Small Step initiative.

One of six radio stations in the U.S. to be chosen for the 2022 project, the station is asking for help to strengthen the local community – one conversation at a time.

It works like this: community members in the WTIP listening area can sign up here to be involved with the project. It’s an opportunity to meet somebody who thinks differently than you do about issues and to have a personal conversation. In other words, it’s an opportunity to connect.

Barbara Jean Meyers, a longtime contributor to WTIP,  is co-leading the project. She spoke with WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs during a live interview Aug. 23 on Daybreak about the ongoing project. Featured, for the first time, were audio clips from some of the recordings with local residents that are included in the initiative. Audio below.
