Congratulations to the Class of 2022

Commencement exercises for the Cook County High School Class of 2022 will be Saturday, May 28 at 1 p.m. in the Pam Taylor Gymnasium at the school. The school asks attendees to please wear masks due to the increased numbers of COVID-19 cases in the community.

Graduates will take part in a parade after the ceremony, at approximately 2:45 p.m. riding from the Sawtooth Mountain Elementary School parking lot to The Point in downtown Grand Marais for a final class photo.

The graduation ceremony will also be available for viewing during and after commencement on the school’s YouTube channel which can be found on the school website.

It’s a tradition at WTIP to speak with the valedictorian and salutatorian each year as graduation day approaches. This year’s valedictorian is Jacob Dorr and the salutatorian is Cecelia Chmelik. WTIP’s Rhonda Silence spoke with them and those conversations are below.
