COVID case count continues to climb in Cook County

The case count for COVID-19 in Cook County continues to climb.

Local public health officials reported at least six new COVID-19 cases in the past week among local residents, including three women in their 20s, two men in their 40s and another man in his 50s.

This brings the total case count for Cook County to 152 since the beginning of the pandemic. 

On the vaccine front, 3,546 people have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Cook County, which represents 76% of the county population.  A total of 2,723 have complete the full series, equating to 58% of the county population.

At least 2.34 million Minnesotans have received the first dose, with 1.67 million completing the series.

The next vaccination event in Cook County will take place Thursday, April 29. The event will be at the community center in Grand Marais. The Moderna vaccine will be offered at this event. Click here to register and for more information.
