Drury Lane Books hosts book launch of ‘Making the Carry’ by author Timothy Cochrane
The North Shore of Lake Superior has many great authors and stories.
Drury Lane Books is hosting a book launch and author talk event with a local author on the North Shore on Saturday, Mar. 11, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will feature local author Timothy Cochrane and his new book ‘Making the Carry.’
‘Making the Carry’ is an extraordinarily illustrated biography of a Métis man and Anishinaabe woman navigating significant changes in their homeland along the U.S. and Canadian border in the early twentieth century.
At the event, the author will read from their book, discuss the writing process, and take questions from the audience. In addition, it is a chance to meet your favorite authors and get a signed book.
“We’re so lucky to have someone like Tim Cochran living in our area because he is an academic historian,” Gwen Danfelt, the manager of Drury Lane Books, said. “He just knows so much about our area because he’s really dedicated his life’s work to it.”
The event is free and open to the public.
WTIP’s Mark Abrahamson spoke with Danfelt about the upcoming event at Drury Lane Books. Audio from the interview is below.
