More Events: Visit Cook County
Second Harvest Northland’s Mobile Food Pantry Program will be in Cook County on the fourth Wednesday of each month, at the Grand Portage Community Center from 11:30 am to noon and at the Cook County Community Center from 1:30 to 2 pm.
The Grand Marais Public Library will host beginner knitting classes with Dorothy Boomall, owner of the local knit shop Dappled Fern Fibers. Each session focuses on a different basic knitting skill. All are welcome to attend all sessions or choose the ones you are most interested in. Yarn and needles will be provided.
The last class will take place on Thursday, February 27 from 10 to 11 am. The topic is reading a pattern.
The Grand Marais Public Library hosts Story Time on Thursday at 11 am. Featuring stories, songs, and a simple craft. Activities are geared towards ages 0-5, but all are welcome.
Joy and Company hosts Thursday Art Night every Thursday from 3:30 – 5 pm. New events are planned each week. More information is available on the Joy and Company Facebook page.
The Death Cafe welcomes the community to a safe and confidential space to share, listen, or just be as we share losses and grief on Thursday, February 27 from 6 to 7 pm at The Hub. Hosted by End of Life Doulas Pat Campanaro, Suzanne Sherman, and Margy Nelson.
Winter Plein Air opening reception will be held on Friday, February 28 from 5 to 7 pm at the Johnson Heritage Post. Winter Plein Air is an annual painting expedition to YMCA Camp Menogyn hosted by the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota. The Winter Plein Air Exhibit will run through March 23.
