Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial Beacon Lighting
Split Rock Lighthouse hosts the Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial Beacon Lighting on Friday, November 10. The site is open from 10 am to 6 pm with the beacon lighting ceremony / live stream at 4:30 pm.
This annual event commemorates the sinking of the freighter Edmund Fitzgerald and the total loss of the 29 crew members aboard on November 10, 1975. It is also a time to reflect on the memory of all lives lost on the Great Lakes.
