Looking for a good book: recommendations from Ezme Mundell
Story by WTIP youth volunteer Ezme Mundell
Hi, my name is Ezme Mundell. I am 11 years old. Graphic Novels are so popular. I didn’t say I don’t like them, but often I like to sit down with a good old novel. I will tell you about my top three favorites from this summer.
Pippa Park Raises Her Game By Erin Yun
Pippa Park is about a 7th-grade girl who plays basketball and experiences some friend problems in a new school. I love this story because it quickly reeled me in. I play basketball, so I could connect with the main character. I really feel the intense vibe in the wording when it comes down to one last shot. Try it, I am sure you’ll get intrigued!
Best Bad Babysitters Ever Series by Caroline Cala
The Best Bad Babysitters Ever is very different from the other babysitters club books you may know of. A part that I thought was super funny was one of the main characters happened to be reading Kristy’s Great Idea and that is when she got the idea to have her own club! The club consists of 3 girls that have zero experience being around children and are truly disgusted by kids in general, the club runs into some problems that are bad and almost put them out of business. The girls do a lot of babysitting while trying to juggle their other duties. This problem does not turn out the way they had expected!!! Read it to find out more!!!
The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise by Dan Gemeinhart!
The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise is a book full of up-and-down emotions. The main character is named Coyote Sunrise and she is 12 years old. Her mom and sisters were killed in a car crash and they could never be replaced, along their road trip Coyote Sunrise realized something really special was far far away and she needed to get there fast but her dad Rodeo is against going there because he is scared to go back to their hometown where his wife and daughters were killed. I highly recommend this one. It is my all-time favorite book that I have ever read!!!!!! I am not kidding.
Thank you to the Grand Marais Library for their summer reading program that got me my Pippa Park book.
