Norpine Fat Bike Classic and winter events with Visit Cook County

The first weekend in January is a busy time for many in Cook County.

In addition to the Jan. 7 Gunflint Mail Run, the weekend hosts the Norpine Fat Bike Classic. The Norpine Fat Bike Classic consists of two races, the 14-mile Short Pine Race and the 25-mile Long Pine Race. Both race events will start and finish on Saturday, Jan. 7, at Cascade Lodge.

The races will kick off at 10 a.m., with the awards ceremony commencing at 2:30 p.m. Awards will be presented following the race at Cascade Restaurant.

The event is open to the public and is a fundraiser for the Superior Cycling Association and Norpine Trail Association to support trail maintenance and development in Cook County.
