Utah Private Investigator Visits Pike Lake Road, Shares Insight on Possible FLDS Compound

A private investigator from Utah, Sam Brower, visited Cook County in May 2019. The purpose of the visit was to engage with local residents about the purchase of local land by Seth Jeffs, a known polygamist, convicted felon and member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jeffs purchased 40 acres of property along Pike Lake Road in Cook County and plans to build a 6,000-square-foot building on the land.

On May 18, Brower visited Pike Lake Road and the edge of the property purchased by Seth Jeffs. After using a drone to survey the property, Brower believes the FLDS church is looking to build a compound in Cook County.

Included in aerial photographs of the property were images of a trailer where Jeffs is likely residing, large equipment including a bulldozer and excavator and a large swath of land cleared to build a 6,000 sq. ft. building.

Brower is known for his work in exposing the crimes of the FLDS church and Jeffs family. He spoke with community members during a May 18 town hall event about the potential of an FLDS compound being built on Pike Lake Road. Just hours after the meeting, Brower visited Pike Lake Road. Based on the evidence captured by his drone, Brower believes this is only the beginning when it comes to the development of this property and the arrival of the FLDS community in Cook County.
