Singer-songwriter Charlie Roth makes his Roadhouse debut

 Charlie Roth plays a unique blend of Americana, folk, blues, country, Celtic and more. He stopped by Studio A Aug. 10 to chat and play a few tunes on his guitar, accompanied by his foot.

Bump Blomberg joins Moors & McCumber for great music in Studio A

Buck and Bob welcomed James Moors and Kort McCumber, with local musician Bump Blomberg, to The Roadhouse Aug. 10, before their performance that evening at Betsy Bowen's What's Upstairs in Grand Marais.

Grand Rapids musicians Matthew & Sam Miltich stop by Studio A

Matthew and Sam Miltich were in town Aug. 3 to play at Harbor Park during Fisherman's Picnic. They stopped by The Roadhouse to talk about the challenges and joys of being a rural musician and, of course, Sam played a few songs.

The Joe Paulik Band plays Studio A

The Joe Paulik Band stopped by The Roadhouse July 27 to chat and play a few songs. Joe Paulik is on guitar and vocals, Jessi Nicholson sings, and John Mianowski plays bass guitar. Drummer Rick Brandenburg and fiddler Max Bichel joined them later that evening at the Raven's Nest above the Gun Flint Tavern in Grand Marais.

Jerry Vandiver, with guest Shy Anne, plays beautiful music in Studio A

Nashville songwriter & musician Jerry Vandiver stopped by The Roadhouse July 20 before his performance at Betsy Bowen's What's Upstairs that evening. He brought along Shy-Anne, an award-winning songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and performer from Northwestern Ontario, and the two chatted with Buck and played a few songs.

Grand Marais singer-songwriter Michael Monroe stopped in July 13 to chat with Bob and play a few songs, including one from his very first album, "Summer Rain."

Local accordion player & singer Leah Thomas joined Buck and Bob at the Wooden Boat Show at North House Folk School June 22 for music, laughter, and yes, more than a few accordion jokes.

Buck Benson and Karen Blackburn welcomed roots/folk duo Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank (Ian Alexy and Teague Alexy) for some great guitar and harmonica stylings.

Two Many Banjos plays Studio A once more before going on hiatus

Bob and Buck hosted Duluth folk/bluegrass band Two Many Banjos in studio June 1. It was one of their last appearances before they go on hiatus later this month.
