The Birney Quick Legacy exhibition is at the Johnson Heritage Post through April 21.

Artist Birney Quick (1912-1981) produced more than 10,000 works of art in his lifetime, many of which were painted in Cook County. He was a teacher, expert fisherman, and founded the longest-running art colony in Minnesota, the Grand Marais Arts Colony. This showcase will highlight the many techniques and mediums Quick mastered, from watercolors to charcoals to wood carving.

Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday 10 am to 4 pm.
