Cajun music legends Beausoliel avec Michael Doucet come to ACA
Beausoliel is a Cajun band from the Lafayette, Louisiana area that recently celebrated 50 years together as a group. Acclaimed as one of the foremost performers of Cajun music, they’ll be coming to the Arrowhead Center for the Arts on February 11th at 7pm. The band’s leader and fiddler Michael Doucet joins Will Moore on the air calling in from Louisiana to talk about growing up around Cajun music, his scholarly efforts in preserving it at Louisiana State University, and what makes Cajun music a unique form of American traditional song.
