Looking back on 25 years of local sports coverage on WTIP

WTIP has been covering local sports since first coming on the air in April 1998.

Over the past 25 years, we’ve presented live broadcasts of Cook County football, volleyball, and basketball games. We’ve also invited coaches and student-athletes on the air to share their accomplishments and stories with the community.

During the spring membership drive, WTIP aired a program taking a look back on 25 years of local sports coverage on the air. The show was live on March 31.

WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs and Sterling Anderson hosted the program, along with WTIP sports broadcaster Norman Moe. Also featured on the program were:

-Chris Lindholm, ISD 166 superintendent

-Doug Seim

-Mike Theismann, local teacher and coach
