Tofte 4th of July does it again!

Story by Ezme Mundell – youth volunteer for WTIP

A lot of people gather at Birch Grove to participate in the Tofte trek run and walk! First up the 10k walkers take off so they don’t get run over by our running racers that took off 30 minutes later! There are some kid races. There is the sprint and the 1 miler! This was my first year running in the 10k run and it was so fun I would really recommend trying it out!

I ran the race with my friend Ruby Hawsen! Wear old shoes there is some insane mud to tackle. Moving on with my fun-filled day I walked down to the Tofte town park to check out the bouncy house that was being run by no-profits. There is some great food but a big missing part of my 4th was no minnow races!

Around 2 p.m. the Tofte parade started on its way, I caught lots of candy with my friends. It was a blast but it was not over yet I still had fireworks to look forward to!!! Later that night we packed up some chairs, blankets, bug spray, and sweatshirts and took off toward the Tofte fireworks!

When we got there it still did not look very dark but before soon the lights dimmed! We found a spot on the rocks outside Bluefin Hotels, we watched as the sky lit up in colorful fireworks! Wow! Next year maybe consider coming up for the Tofte 4th of July it is a lot of fun!!!!
