Northern Gardening: Historic Gardens of the Fur Trade
Today, gardeners can visit a local nursery or shop online to buy seeds and tools with the click of a button. But how did people garden in this region during the height of the fur trade in the 1700s and 1800s? Hosts Sarah Waddle and Joan Farnam are joined by Karl Koster from Grand Portage National Monument and Gwen McCrone from Fort William Historical Park to learn more about gardening practices of the past.
Northern Gardening airs every 2nd Thursday of the Month at 7 pm, then again at 6 am the following Saturday. All previously aired programs are archived on our website to listen to at any time.
