Wildwoods Wildlife Rehab Center – Avian Flu
The outbreak of the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) continues to take its toll on poultry farms in much of Minnesota. It is also having a surprisingly large impact on owls, eagles, hawks and other raptors for whom the disease is nearly always fatal. Wildwoods Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Duluth has had to modify its operations to try to protect the animals it cares for during this outbreak.
WTIP’s CJ Heithoff talks with Wildwoods Nursery Manager Valerie Slocum about the avian flu in this interview.
