Know your candidates: Arrowhead Cooperative Board 2024 election

The Arrowhead Cooperative will hold the group’s annual meeting on June 12. The meeting will include election results for three seats on the co-op board. Customer-members should have received a ballot with their annual report in the mail. The service area is divided into districts, but members can vote for any or all of the districts’ seats. Ballots must be returned by 1 p.m. on June 12 to be counted. They can be returned by mail to PO Box 39, Lutsen, MN 55612, or dropped off at the Arrowhead office at 5401 West Highway 61, Lutsen, MN 55612.

This year, the election includes board seats in districts 2, 4, and 5. Donna Lunke currently represents district 2, and is running for reelection unopposed. In district 4, Mike Littfin is running for his fifth term on the board, and is challenged by Tony Everson. Sandy Hanson is seeking the district 5 seat. She is running against Stan Tull, who has represented the district for the past 9 years.

WTIP’s Kirsten Wisniewski spoke with each of the candidates about what perspectives they hope to bring to the board, as well as their vision for Arrowhead’s future. Audio from those interviews are below.
