Bearskin Lodge hosts upcoming Boundary Water Expo June 10 & 11

The Boundary Waters Expo returns to the Gunflint Trail on June 10 & 11 at Bearskin Lodge, located 26 miles from Grand Marais.

The family-friendly event will celebrate all things canoeing, camping, and wilderness travel. “We have a lot of exhibitors showing off canoes and paddles and camera equipment, as well as some local artists,” Quinn McCloughan, the outfitting manager at Bearskin Lodge, said.

The weekend events start with a presentation by Rob Kesselring at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, titled ‘Bannock – the Bread of the Backcountry.’ Later in the early afternoon, there will be a presentation by David Coleman and Teresa Maronne about dark skies in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW); shortly after that, more presentations about building a wood canvas canoe, canoeing the boundary waters, hammock camping, and much more.
