Narcotics Anonymous meetings are Wednesday evenings at 7 pm at The Hub in Grand Marais. All who have an interest are welcome to come.
Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Bird Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.
The Grand Marais Public Library will host beginner knitting classes with Dorothy Boomall, owner of the local knit shop Dappled Fern Fibers. Each session focuses on a different basic knitting skill. All are welcome to attend all sessions or choose the ones you are most interested in. Yarn and needles will be provided.
The classes will take place on Thursdays from 10 to 11 am. Dates and topics are:
February 20 – Increase & Decrease
February 27 – Reading a Pattern
Joy and Company hosts Thursday Art Night every Thursday from 3:30 – 5 pm. New events are planned each week. More information is available on the Joy and Company Facebook page.
Dappled Fern Fibers hosts a Saturday Fiber Circle from 10 to 11:30 am. Knitting, crocheting, spinning darning, embroidery, cross stitching, and all other fiber arts are welcome.
Johnson Heritage Post is celebrating Cook County Historical Society’s 100th year with their Permanent Collection Feature, 100 Years of Art in Cook County. The exhibition features artwork created in the 1920’s through today, highlighting the extraordinary breadth of talent that appreciates the wonders of Cook County and will run through February 23. Gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm.
The Cook County Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.
Lutsen Yoga takes place on Tuesdays from 6 to 6:45 at the Town Hall. All ages and abilities are welcome. 10 mats are available for use on a first come first served basis.
There is no class on the third Tuesday of the month due to the township meetings.
The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall. Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics. The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.
