The Cook County Historical Society presents Steve Hoffbeck, a Minnesota-born-and-raised author of Colvill Smiled: The Legends of the 1st Minnesota Volunteer Regiment at Gettysburg, on Tuesday, August 1,9 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery. Hoffbeck will talk about Colonel William Colvill, Minnesota’s gigantic 6’5″ Civil War Hero, and why Colvill has a homestead located just east of Grand Marais.
