Lutsen Church Builds Solar Lights for Ukraine

Lutsen Evangelical Lutheran Church invited the Cook County community to assemble solar light kits on January 7, 2023. The now-completed kits will be shipped to families in war-torn regions of Ukraine.

The event was hosted and led by Dave Nonnemacher of the New Horizons Foundation, a Romania-based non-profit organization, on Sunday, Jan. 7.

WTIP’s Kalli Hawkins spoke with Pastor Tom Murray in advance of the event. WTIP’s Chuck Olsen attended the event and spoke with attendees including John Mellang and Jan Horak about their motivations for participating in the workshop. Audio & video from the event is below.
