State Patrol squad car rolls after hitting a deer on Highway 61

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 5, a state trooper responded to assist an agency call, when the trooper hit a deer in the roadway on Highway 61 near mile marker 112, about 4 miles east of Grand Marais near the Devil Track River.

The squad car rolled as a result of the crash. The State Patrol officer, Andrew Olson, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. This crash remains an open investigation according to Gordon Shank, the public information officer for the Minnesota State Patrol.
