Superior Resource Advisory Committee seeks new members

The National Forest Service (NFS) is looking for new members for the Superior Resource Advisory Committee. The organization helps determine which projects are selected for the Superior National Forest.

In a press release, the NFS stated that Resource Advisory Committees (RACs) review project proposals and advises the forest that it serves on which projects to fund. The projects focus on improving land and water management, infrastructure, and recreation opportunities.

The RAC for Superior National Forest is comprised of 15 members of a diverse set of backgrounds, including local municipal and tribal leaders, environmental organizations, and representatives from the business sector. In addition, the committee includes some recreational users of the forest, and members of the public. All members must live in Minnesota, ideally in St. Louis, Lake, or Cook Counties.

The NFS is currently accepting applications for 4-year terms on the Superior Resource Advisory Committee. The deadline for application is Feb. 15.
