Spring Membership Drive

March 26-30

Our on-air spring membership drive ended at noon on March 30th. 

Thank you to everyone who called in, stopped by, or joined online during WTIP’s Spring Member Drive, “Hear the North Shore.” Over the past four and a half days, we welcomed 29 new members, new 13 sustaining members, and received continued support from 45 renewing members and 92 additional gifts. Together, we raised $80,670  thanks to the momentum of early giving, an extraordinary match, and 192 pledges.

7 – 7:30 PM Superior Reads with Lin Salisbury — Lin talks with author Laurie Hertzel about her new memoir Ghosts of Fourth Street…My Family, a Death, and the Hills of Duluth. Laurie paints a vivid portrait of 1960’s Duluth as she poignantly examines a family contending with grief and the fact that life steadily goes on – snow and school buses, Christmases and Thanksgivings, ice skating and tobogganing and climbing trees, with ghosts always lingering at the edges. A lifelong journalist, Laurie Hertzel spent fifteen years as the books editor at the Minneapolis Star Tribune and now reviews for the Boston Globe, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times.
