Scenic Route Music Series
In collaboration with the North Shore Music Association, WTIP is happy to announce the return of Bizhiki to the Arrowhead Center for the Arts on Saturday, October 10th. The group will be in Cook County for a weekend-long residency including student workshops, a community music program in Grand Portage and an evening performance in Grand Marais. WTIP’s Scenic Route Music Series was happy to partner with the North Shore Music Association and North House Folk School on the Dockside Sessions–a free outdoor concert series on the Grand Marais harbor, gathering our community the first three Wednesday evenings in August. Thanks to everyone who joined us for these very special live shows!

Funded in part by the Cook County Community Fund, Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, Visit Cook County, Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation and by the voters of Minnesota, through a grant by the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
WTIP North Shore Community Radio presents the Scenic Route Music Series featuring a seasonal lineup of music shows in 2026 and 2027.
This new WTIP initiative will host Blues/R&B guitarist Charlie Parr on Saturday, September 12th at 6:30 pm at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais. Local instrumentalist Adam Kirsch will open with a short set.

The new series is built on partnerships with the North Shore Music Association, Visit Cook County, North House Folk School and other local venues in Cook County. WTIP Executive Director Matthew Brown said that “this alliance with other organizations and music venues will help WTIP increase access to the arts and local music in our community, in a way that benefits all.”
The series is named for the Scenic Route radio program that airs every Friday from 4 to 5 p.m. and features interviews, live performances and event news focused on local and Minnesota-based musicians.
