North American Moose Conference to be held in Grand Portage in May

The 55th North American Moose Conference is coming to the North Shore of Minnesota this spring. Researchers, biologists, and professionals will gather in Grand Portage this upcoming May for the annual event.

The multi-day conference and workshop events will take place May 22-26. The conference will include various presentations, interactive workshops in moose habitat in Cook County, and a full-day field trip to Isle Royale National Park. Details on various aspects of the conference being open to the local community are still being determined, though historically the conference has focused on professionals who work in the field of moose research.

In previous years, the moose conference took place in Maine, Washington, Alaska, and Montana, in addition to other locations across the country. The first conference was held in St. Paul in 1963. Grand Portage also hosted the 35th conference, in 1999.
