Talon Stammen and Cory Goldsworthy to present at Northern Landscapes Festival June 2 & 3

The Northern Landscapes Festival returns to the North House Folk School on June 2 and 3 in Grand Marais. 

The two-day festival features public presentations by Talon Stammen, a long-time student of craft at North House who is completing his Ph.D. research on the impacts of beavers on amphibian and invertebrate species in Voyageurs National Park. 

The other speaker featured at the event is Cory Goldsworthy, Minnesota’s Department of Natural Resources Lake Superior Fisheries Supervisor, to share the history of fish, fishing, and fisheries management in Lake Superior and insights into changes within the fish community and ecosystem.

The first presentation kicks off with Talon Stammen on Friday, June 2, at 7 p.m. in the blue building at the North House Folk School campus. His presentation is titled ‘Beaver Crafted Wetlands: Amphibian and Invertebrate Communities in the Boreal Forest.’

The second presentation by Cory Goldsworthy is held the following evening on Saturday, June 3, at 7 p.m. in the blue building. The presentation title is ‘The History of Fish, Fishing, and Fisheries Management in the Minnesota Waters of Lake Superior.’
