City council requests more information before supporting increased spending for local library
The Grand Marais City Council said it needs more information before it can support an increase in the Grand Marais Public Library budget for 2024.
The discussion about the library’s budget came during a meeting of the city council on July 12 at City Hall in Grand Marais. Appearing before the city council on behalf of the local library were Director Amanda St. John and Library Board Member Enno Limvere. The budget increase for the public library exceeds a five-percent threshold for next year, due, at least in part, to health insurance costs for library employees.
