Earth Body Healing opens in downtown Grand Marais
Following the recent renovation of the Birchbark Gifts building in downtown Grand Marais, numerous entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and small businesses have settled into the newly updated office space.
One of the most recent new business additions to the space earlier this fall is Earth Body Healing, which offers yoga and massage services.
“The building’s fantastic,” Lily Wilson, owner of Earth Body Healing, said. Her new space includes a massage table and extra yoga mats to host private sessions.
Wilson said that while she provides a variety of massage modalities, her primary focus and passion is the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi style. Wilson’s Hawaiian Lomi Lomi style expertise stems from her schooling at Maui Academy of Healing Arts and Maui Yoga Shala, located in Paia, HI.
“That’s just kind of naturally the form that I gravitated towards,” Wilson said. “Which is really lovely because it’s extremely therapeutic, but also extremely relaxing as well.”
While attending college, Wilson began her journey into herbalism and the natural healing world many years ago. Then, after moving to Cook County from her hometown of Bemidji, she started Little Fox Botanicals, which offers chapstick and medicinal balms. Little Fox Botanicals can be found at Joy & Company.
“I kind of had the aha moment that this is really what I want to pursue natural healing and helping others in that way,” she said.
Wilson is available for private yoga and massage sessions by appointment. On Saturdays, she hosts walk-in hours for 15-minute or 30-minute mini-massages from 1-7 p.m. “So that way, if you don’t have the time or the money to do a full hour or 90-minute massage, you can get a flavor of my style,” she said.
Earth Body Healing can be reached by calling 218-556-1874 or visiting the website.
