Bogus Lake Fire 100 percent contained

After two days of monitoring and suppressing the Bogus Lake Fire, about 1/4 mile north of Bogus Lake in Cook County, U.S. Forest Service officials said the fire is 100% contained.

“The Bogus Lake fire was 100% contained yesterday at end of shift,” Forest Service officials told WTIP on Friday, Oct. 11.

The size of the fire remained at 53 acres, 33 of which are Forest Service administered land and 20 acres of private vacant land.

The Forest Service and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources ground crews will continue mopping up the fire today.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and is unknown at this time.
