Rita Wehseler wins the 2025 Gunflint Mail Run

Rita Wehseler has been named the winner of the 2025 Gunflint Mail Run. During the awards ceremony the officials said that Wehseler’s sled dog team averaged 12.2 miles per hour through the day-long race.

Wehseler, who is based in Tofte was in the lead after the first leg of the race, and retained her lead to bring home the win. In second and third place were Matt Schmidt and Erin Altemus, respectively.
