Scenic Route
Mongolian-American fusion group Tuvergen Band headed to Grand Marais
Tuvergen Band is a Chicago-based band that blends the traditional musical styles of Inner Mongolia with modern styles of American music. The band is comprised of Tamir Hargana, a vocalist trained in Tuvan and Mongolian throat singing, Naizal Hargana, who plays the traditional horse-head fiddle among many other instruments, and percussionist Brent Roman, an American ethnomusicologist. They all join Will Moore on the Scenic Route to talk about their music and what to expect from the upcoming show at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais.
