Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery hosts the opening reception for “Scenes of the North Shore” on Friday, January 2, from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibit bridges the gap between art and history by pairing historic and contemporary local works from the JHP permanent collection with physical artifacts from the Cook County Historical Society’s archives and even from the artists themselves. The exhibit will run through January 25. The JHP Art Gallery will be open during its regular hours this winter (Thursday – Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday 1 pm to 4 pm).
