2026 Memorial Day ceremony at Cook County Courthouse

Veterans and community members gathered at the Cook County Courthouse on Monday, May 25, for the annual Memorial Day ceremony.

The American Legion Post 413 hosted the ceremony, which began with the National Anthem. Post 413 Commander Bob Mattson welcomed the crowd surrounding the Veterans Memorial area of the courthouse lawn and thanked all for coming to honor this special day.

Commander Mattson read the names of Cook County veterans who have passed in the last year, ringing a bell after each name.
