Wildfire reported near Pine Lake in BWCAW

U.S. Forest Service firefighters are responding to the Long 2 Fire, a small wildfire reported south of Pine Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The location of the fire is west of McFarland Lake towards the end of the Arrowhead Trail.

The fire was estimated at 1 to 2 acres as of Thursday evening. The U.S. Forest Service is asking the public to avoid the area while firefighters respond. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
