North Shore Music Association, North House Folk School and WTIP Launch Dockside Sessions

In June of 2026 WTIP North Shore Community Radio launched the Scenic Route Music Series featuring a seasonal lineup of music shows in 2026 and 2027.  The new series is built on partnerships with the North Shore Music Association, North House Folk School, Visit Cook County and local venues in Cook County.

This collaborative effort between NSMA, NHFS and WTIP includes the upcoming Dockside Sessions at North House Folk School August 5, 12 and 19. The first session on August 5th will host singer-songwriter Chastity Brown. Multi-instrumentalist Molly Dean performs on August 12th, followed by the group Bad Bad Hats on August 19th. All performances begin at 7:30pm and are free and open to the public. You are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket. In the event of rain the event will be moved to Up Yonder.

North Shore Music Association Director Barbara Jean Meyers spoke with North Shore Morning about this exciting, new music series and the collaboration between NSMA, WTIP and North House Folk School. Listen to the interview, below.

Dockside Sessions are funded in part by the Cook County Community Fund, Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, Visit Cook County, Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation and by the voters of Minnesota, through a grant by the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Upcoming Scenic Route Music Series performances include the return of the multi-media group Bizhiki October 9th and 10th and a sold-out performance by Charlie Parr on September 12th.
