Body recovered from Lake Superior near Lutsen
A body was recovered in Lake Superior near Lutsen this afternoon.
At 3:29 p.m. on Aug. 12, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding what appeared to be a person floating in the water and not moving approximately 20 to 30 ft from shore near Solbakken Resort in Lutsen, Minn.
First responders were dispatched to the scene and, at 3:48 p.m., visually confirmed a body floating in the water. Shortly thereafter, first responders and law enforcement departed the Grand Marais harbor on a boat towards Lutsen. At approximately, 5:33 p.m. law enforcement returned to the Grand Marais harbor and transported the body into an ambulance.
