Cook County girls Nordic ski team competes at state meet

The Cook County girls Nordic ski team placed 15th at the state meet Wednesday and Thursday at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.

MJ Wharton and Lindy Dix competed in the team sprint Wednesday, finishing 23rd. Emma Crook, Quincy Hurth and Ezme Mundell raced in the pursuit Thursday. Crook led Cook County with a 69th-place finish. Final times were not available at press time.

The Vikings qualified for state by placing second at the Section 7 meet. Crook finished sixth at sections, followed by Mundell in ninth and Hurth in 11th. Wharton and Dix placed sixth in the team sprint at the sectional meet.
